First, ISRO and NASA jointly launched the NISAR satellite—India’s first dual-frequency radar satellite designed for advanced Earth observation to aid ecology, agriculture, and disaster response. Concurrently, the government secured the return of the Piprahwa gems—ancient cultural artifacts—from sale abroad, reflecting a renewed focus on reclaiming Indian heritage. Together, these developments represent India’s dual pursuit of scientific leadership and cultural restoration
